I’m so excited to try some new trends this year! I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone this year (less neutrals, more colour and prints) and these are the 5 trends that I plan on rocking throughout the year!
1. Green
Green is totally having a moment right now! I’m loving darker shades of green like the colours of this CAMI NYC Dress and Fleur Du Mal Skirt. It’ll be easy to dress these pieces up or down and incorporate them into many outfits.
2. Pastel Purple
The pantone colour of the year is ultraviolet, which I’m super into but I actually prefer a more soft version of it. Pastel purple has always been a colour I really liked, but I’ll definitely be embracing it more this year! I’m especially loving this Yigal Azrouel Off The Shoulder Top and Tibi Cropped Sweater.
3. Statement Shorts
I cannot wait till the Summer and Coachella to start rocking shorts again! I want to invest more in statement shorts, just so it’s something different than a classic pair of denim cutoffs. These Zimmermann Flutter Shorts are something I’ve been lusting over for a bit because I love the print, and the print of the shorts in this Ali & Jay Two Piece Set are so chic too!
4. Bold Stripes
There’s something about bold stripes done right that are just so trendy to me. If I’m trying this trend I’d definitely go for stand out pieces. This ViX Swimwear has the perfect colours and this Michelle Mason Gown with Slit would be definitely turn heads!
5. Satin
I’m sure most of you have something satin in your wardrobe already. I want to upgrade a few of my basics and I’ll definitely make sure a few of them are satin. I love the way it drapes, especially this FRAME Satin Tank. Another thing I’m on the lookout for is a pair of paperbag shorts and these 3.1 Phillip Lin Satin Origami Shorts are right up my alley!
What do you think of my trend picks? Let me know which ones you love or if there are other I should try too! Shopbop is having a big sale for 5 days where you can score huge savings so definitely take advantage of it! I know that I’ll be picking up a couple pieces for the Spring 🙂
