There are two staples that I think everyone should have in their wardrobe – a good quality moto jacket and a pair of jeans that fit perfectly. You all know that I’m usually a fan of classic closet staples, but lately I’ve been all about going out of my comfort zone and trying pieces that I wouldn’t normally reach for day to day. I think that jeans are a great place to start because I’m sure most of you live in your favourite pair of jeans like me. Also especially during the Spring, a jacket that you can throw on over any outfit is a must have, and this year I wanted to try something edgier.
When choosing a jacket, go with a shade that best suits your personality or that you know will go with a lot of pieces in your wardrobe. This way you’ll get the most cost per wear. I went with a classic black moto jacket because I know black goes with everything. If your wardrobe is mainly lighter and softer shades though, or you think black might be too harsh, try a grey jacket. I’d even say that if you’re a little girly sometimes like me, even a jacket in a pink hue is a great option!
When it came to stepping up my game with a pair of jeans that stand out, these marble wash jeans caught my eye. I like that they’re a little different with the textured print and the zipper, but still not too edgy that I couldn’t pull them off. If this style isn’t for you, you can always try printed denim, embroidered denim, or for something really different, these lighter wash jeans with a fun pattern all over. The most important thing is that that the jeans fit you like a glove and are flattering. Denim from Reitmans fit extremely well and there will be something for everyone, whether you’re taller or more petite.
I know that I’ll be wearing these jeans and a moto jacket like this so much in the Spring! Will any of you try upgrading these two closet staples in your wardrobe? Let me know if you would wear the jeans or jacket I picked out here or if there are other trends that you think I should try!
Thank you Reitmans for sponsoring this post.
